ABOUT: 

  Improve your pitching and/or catching skills. Led by former professional baseball player Shawn May, current professional pitcher for the Alpine Cowboys Brendan May, and All-star catcher for Utica University, Noah Barber.

This camp will focus on working the fundamentals of catching, such as blocking and throwing, as well as pitching fundamentals, such as throwing mechanics and various pitch grips. Most importantly, this clinic will help your overall mental gameplan as a player, person, and teammate. 

 

 Catching FOCUSES: 

  • Receiving Skills 

  • Blocking Skills 

  • Throwing Runners Out

  • Mechanics 

  • Advanced Skill Work 

  • Pitch sequencing

  • Various Pitching Grips

ABOUT The Coach

Shawn May is a former professional baseball player with the San Francisco Giants Organization who, over the span of 25 years, has instructed thousands of young baseball players through his coaching endeavors and summer baseball camps. Additionally, he routinely serves as a guest instructor at numerous college baseball camps and clinics in the Northeast. 

 

Shawn May is a physical education teacher at Fabius Pompey High School, Fabius New York. As the varsity baseball coach, Shawn has been named, twice, New York State Coach of the Year. Shawn has also led his team to TWO State Championships. 

 

Over the span of TWO seasons, his team had a 43 game winning streak, with an overall team batting average of .427.
